Taylor Tomlinson Grand Rapids reviews
WOwnderFul show, venue needs to work on some things
i thought the show was absolutly fantastic. funny, relevant, fresh and original. her presense on stage is a bright shining star. she not only tells you a story but performs it and puts you into it.
the venue says doors open at 830 but crowds were forced to wait in the freezing cold for over an hour. staff were untrained and didnt konw the procedures. each one telling me different ways to go. when getting a drink i waited about 15 min with only one person in front of me. then when it was my turn to order more bartenders came out and started taking drinks of the people behind me. i was amazed that i could be ordered over like that. if you cant handle my order then why take orders of the people behind me. treat the person in front with respect.
Bummed Out
I was shocked and disappointed by my experience. I only caught about 70% of the show because the people in my row and the row in front of me kept getting up during the show. I have NEVER gone to a show where multiple people kept going in and out. We had to stand up every time someone came out of the row, so they could squeeze by. I missed so many lines of Taylor's bits. People were talking, the door kept opening up letting light in, and no one helped people find their seats so they had to shine their light in the dark in search of their seats. Man, I could keep going honestly. We walked away frustrated that we missed out on so much of the show. The staff was not helpful at all. The venue allows people to come in and out to get drinks during the show making the experience very disruptive. That will be the first thing I warn people about if they go to see a show at the Saenger Theatre. I wish we could get a refund but more importantly, I wish we were able to enjoy the show we were excited about.
